Capture LVDS and mini-LVDS output

Unigraf’s test suite provides an effective way of implementing an automated test system for functional testing of the main board in a TV or monitor. In the test suite UFG-04 LVDS test frame grabber replaces the display module and captures the output signal precisely in the way that the display module would do. With Unigraf GUI or software interface the user can preview and evaluate the frame as a bitmap file or in the way needed.

Replacing all types of LCD Modules

Unigraf LVDS or mini-LVDS test solution can be used to replace any LCD module or LCD panel in the production test station. This feature provides instant flexibility and cost saving since you do not have to swap panels when changing the tested board. You can also avoid the additional cost caused by the evident breakage of the displays.

Mini-LVDS Capture

By using Unigraf’s configurable mini-LVDS to LVDS converter unit MLC-1, you can test also boads with mini-LVDS output. Unigraf’s MLC-1 includes a configurable logic to translate the different mini-LVDS signal types. It provides a 2 channel LVDS output for UFG-04 LVDS test frame grabber. The design is flexible and can be re-programmed to suit different mini-LVDS signal variations.

Improvement over Visual Testing

Visual testing is the mostly used method for testing displays and image sources. Human eye is a very efficient "tool" for detecting some of the problems but it has its problems too. Extended testing periods cause eye fatigue and additionally the judgment is always subjective.

Consistent Results

Computer based test are fast and reliable. It will provide a result in seconds and similar judgement in each repetition. In the gained additional testing time better accuracy you can include more detailed tests and you can use test material e.g. random noise patterns that are not suitable for human eye based testing.

Cost Effective Solution

Automated tests implemented with Unigraf UFG-04 boards and UFG04 SDK provide a practical alternative for performing your tedious long term tests. Sequences that used to take days or weeks can now be done as background tasks without operator assistance. Being able to do more tests in a shorter time will also allow you to do more frequent and thorough tests. This results in a potentially more bug-free product and savings in return costs.

 

 

A configurable unit for converting mini-LVDS signal to two channel LVDS signal for capturing with UFG-04 LVDS test frame grabber.

UFG-04 LVDS is a frame grabber card for capturing 1 or 2 channel LVDS signal up to 135 MHz pixel clock per channel.

Two synchronized UFG-04 LVDS cards enable the capture of four channel LVDS (Quad LVDS) sources. The synchronization makes sure that the Master and the Slave card are capturing portions of the same input frame.
