Unigraf, the specialist of video test pattern sources and video capture cards, announced today that VTM Inc., assigned by VESA, has qualified Unigraf DisplayPort™ test equipment and tools. The qualification enables Unigraf equipment to be used as Authorized Test Tools for DisplayPort™ Link Layer compliance testing for the DP Certified logo.
The qualification applies to the full range of Unigraf equipment for DisplayPort™ Sink and Source testing. The devices qualified now are: • Unigraf VTG-5225 DP, DisplayPort™ Reference Source, • Unigraf DPR-100, DisplayPort™ Reference Sink, • Unigraf UFG-04 DP, PCI-e DisplayPort™ frame grabber card Reference Sink, • Unigraf DisplayPort™ Reference Sink PC with UFG-04 DP frame grabber,
“We are very excited to hear the news” says Mr. Jouko Ala-Tuori, CEO of Unigraf. “Our customers will now be able to do the CTS tests for both DisplayPort™ Source and Sink devices. Unigraf is the first supplier to provide both authorized Reference Source and Reference Sink”. “The authorization is a clear indication of the determination that Unigraf has had in being in the front line of the DisplayPort™ testing arena. VTG-5225 DP will now extend the use of the VTG 5000 series in flat panel monitor and LCD module testing. The UFG 04 DP Reference Sink frame grabber will as well strengthen our portfolio of products for automated testing of graphic cards, PCs and monitor electronics in the production line”.
VTG-5225 DP is a new member in the deep color video pattern source family. In addition to the full DisplayPort™ Reference Source and CTS testing capability, it features the RGB, YPbPr and Dual-DVI outputs. The flexible WinVTG Windows user interface allows the user to precisely define the timing, the pattern and the output signal. The unit is also capable of testing the HDCP status.
DPR-100 is a novel tool for testing the DisplayPort™ Sources. With its compact size, smaller than a paperback, it is ideal both for laboratory desktop and production line rack. In addition to the DP input cable, it needs only an USB connection to the PC. In spite of its compact size, DPR-100 includes the full functionality of a DiplayPort™ Reference Sink. With the optional CTS software the user is able to do the full compliance testing, verify the HDCP functionalities or just monitor the status of the DP connection.
UFG-04 DP is a PCI-e format DisplayPort™ frame grabber card. The card features the full Reference Sink functionality. in addition to that the user can also capture and store the received signal as bitmaps for later analyzing and for archiving. In contrast to visual analysis, the captured bitmaps can be examined in pixel and gray level detail. This is a valuable feature e.g. for automated testing of Sources ensuring multiple testing in a fast cycle.
Unigraf Oy (Espoo, Finland) is an experienced provider of test pattern cards and sources. Its VTG line of equipment are being used globally for testing of flat panel and LCD monitors, LCD and Plasma modules and small sized mobile displays. The WinVTG graphical user interface and the comprehensive dll library makes the VTG units easy to use either in laboratory or automated production lines. The UFG frame grabber production line includes high definition frame grabber image capture boards for a multitude of video inputs from Composite to LVDS and DisplayPort™.
